Thursday, September 26th: Mercury enters Libra
In Libra, the planet of mind and communication is all about achieving balance, justice, and diplomacy. With elections just around the corner, this is truly the perfect place for Mercury to be…and maybe also the worst. While we are more prone to serve as advocates for what is fair and just…it’s also important to keep in mind that we all have our own ideas of what fairness and justice means. Mercury in Libra is prone to debate, always trying to balance the scales when one side appears to outweigh the other. Use this transit to get politically involved, but remember that you can’t always argue with stupid! Don’t waste your time arguing with Uncle Jim over Facebook when you can put that energy into efforts that make an actual difference. Another caution with this transit is that making decisions can become much harder, as it’s easier to see things from all perspectives. Try to avoid situations where you need to make quick choices about big life decisions.
With the ruler of Libra, Venus, currently debilitated in Scorpio much of our diplomatic thoughts might stem from deeper changes we wish to see. The conversations we have don’t shy away from the darker underbelly of life as we try to find balance between light and dark, surface and depth. You actually might find yourself consuming more true crime content and following trials closer than usual (I’m looking at you, Diddy).
Wednesday, October 2nd: New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Libra
New moons represent new beginnings and are ideal for setting out on new ventures in life. This lunation is extra potent, coming in the form of a solar eclipse. In diplomatic Libra, October’s new moon calls us to find new beginnings to cultivate relationships, harmony, and artistry within our lives. Teaming up with the south node, indicating release, we’re redefining what this means for us. Relationships feel more fulfilling when you let go of people-pleasing to step into your authenticity.
In an aspect of tension to Mars in Cancer, this lunation reminds us that nurturing peace is a worthwhile challenge. The ruler of this powerful new moon, Venus in Scorpio forms a trine at this time with Mars in Cancer and Saturn in Pisces, creating opportunity for deep emotional healing through our Libran pursuits.
